The HOLCIM Circular Explorer is a 100% solar-powered recycling catamaran, designed to recover marine plastic waste in the world’s oceans and rivers. It is currently operating in Manila Bay in the Philippines.
Using specialized sensors installed on the vessel, water quality and microplastic pollution data is collected. This data will allow scientists to present qualitative and quantitative findings to policymakers and help them create policies to help keep Manila Bay clean and healthy.
The PhysOcean Data Hub is a platform designed to centralize and streamline the delivery of physical oceanographic datasets for the Philippine maritime domain. The hub serves as a one-stop repository for researchers, policymakers, and the general public interested in marine science.
